In Gialova, 1 km away, on the bay, you will find essentials’ stores, other boutiques and seaside restaurants offering varied menus – some of which are of excellent quality. In Pylos, a 15 min drive away, you will find supermarkets and around the lively central square near the port: shops and boutiques of all kinds, pharmacies, taverns and restaurants.

 

This region is a first-choice vacation destination for golf . There are four remarkable golf courses in the vicinity: 

– The Bay Course at 1 km  is an 18 hole, 71 par seaside course designed by Robert Trent Jones II . Astonishing views from several holes and club house on the
historical and emblematic Navarino Bay. 

– The Hills Course and the International Olympic Golf Course,  Both 18 holes, 72 par, are located in the hills at 3 km. Both are designed by two-time US Master Champion and Ryder Cup legend José Maria Olasabal and offer fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, the Navarino Bay and the Ionian sea.

– The Dunes Course at 10 km. A 18 hole, 72 par seaside golf designed by former two-time US Masters Champion and Ryder Cup Captain Bernhard Langer. Diverse natural landscape and spectacular views on the Ionian Sea.

In the immediate vicinity, there are endless sandy beaches. Numerous water sports are possible such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, water skiing, paddle, snorkeling, kayaking. At the port you can rent small motorboats that will allow you to explore the hidden corners of the bay. You can even rent a sailing boat with skipper for a more luxurious day at the sea.

 

For those who love two wheel rides, there is also an electric bike rental company to explore the area. A bike ride through the old salt marshes, now a magnificent ornithological park, to the Voidokilia lagoon, is not to be missed. A couple of tourist sites, such as the towns of Methoni and Koroni, as well as the remains of the ancient Messene, will certainly delight you.
